Studio Tour My name is Spot. I help Jeff make all the stuff you see here, and I'm going to show you a little bit about the work we do in the Sculptorium Studios. Jeff likes to think he's in charge of everything but, without me (and six other cats) the place wouldn't be able to function.
Most projects start out with the original model being created in clay or wax. Here you can see my sister, Killer, assisting Jeff with the development of a small torso. This piece was inspired by the photograph of the ancient fragment visible in the book on the stand.
Here is a picture of another place where we do a lot of work. That big white glob on the middle of the bench is one of the molds we use to make the different cat heads. You can see what the inside of it looks and what it looks like upside down, just before we pour plaster into it.
If you look close, under the screwdrivers, you can see a small picture of the Romanian gymnast Lavinia Milosovici. Jeff says " Milo" is the greatest gymnast ever. He says she has good muscles.
These are some of the different tools Jeff uses to make the wax and clay models. Jeff loves tools. He makes a lot of them himself.
That's about it for the studio tour today. Let me know if you want to see more of the studio and I will have Jeff take some more pictures. In the meantime, here's a picture of another one of my sisters. Her name is Maxine and she was really sick for a long time - so sick, we thought she was going to die. Now she's doing a lot better. Hopefully, she will live a long time.
